Occupation in Dallas: farmer at Lancaster; arms worker; storekeeper
Ship / arrival: met Considerant at New York early in 1855 and decided to
bring his family to Texas; reached Reunion at the end of 1855. His name
is on a shareholder list of the Societe de colonisation.
Post-colony
- At the dissolution bought land south of Dallas at Lancaster and built
a small house; there until 1863
- 1863: hired into a Confederate arms factory -- the Lancaster pistol
works (Santerre ch. XII; Sandell)
- After the war ran a store at Lancaster until 1880 (Sandell: a store
and bank); with his brother associated with the former Fourierists
Frick, Boll and Knoepfli
Land
1858 receivership: "J.P. Henri" among the eight stockholding colonists
who took land at $4 an acre (Santerre XI; Sandell II).

Notes
A Paris lithographer who met Considerant in New York, farmed at the
colony, made pistols for the Confederacy and kept a store at Lancaster
-- and whose daughter married the botanist. The Henri brothers' place in
the Swiss grocery firm is the one French link in that partnership.

The Reverchon sketch: Marie Henry, "daughter of Paul Henry and
granddaughter of Captain Deshogues, who was a follower of the great
Napoleon, was decorated with the cross of the Legion of Honor and was
badly wounded in the disastrous battle of Waterloo," married Julien
Reverchon July 24, 1864. Deshogues = Dehouge, Adelaide Henri's maiden
name in Cordillot's appendix.
